Independent consultant turning complex, messy data into decisions you can act on.
I'm a PhD physicist and applied-AI engineer with a decade of building production machine learning, LLM agents, and quantitative models. I partner with organizations to design, build, and ship data science that holds up under real-world scrutiny — and I instruct pilots as an FAA Certified Flight Instructor.
Scientific rigor and a decade of production engineering, applied to the problems that matter to you.
End-to-end machine learning and LLM systems — predictive models, anomaly detection, retrieval (RAG), and agentic assistants that put expert-level capability in non-technical hands. I've shipped production ML generating 58,000+ analyses across 7,400+ aircraft.
Statistical modeling, simulation, and rigorous analysis of messy, real-world data — Bayesian and hierarchical models, hazard-rate and survival analysis, significance testing, and feature engineering on noisy sensor and time-series data. First-principles thinking from a physics background.
FAA Certified Flight Instructor (Instrument). Primary and instrument instruction, flight reviews, and aircraft checkouts under 14 CFR Part 61 — taught with a data-driven approach that uses flight- and engine-data review to target each learner's weak points.
I'm a physicist by training and a builder by practice. Over the past decade I've taken technical systems from idea to production — most recently as a software engineer and data scientist building applied-AI and machine-learning programs in aviation.
At Savvy Aviation I lead two production ML programs — FEVA and GADfly — that flag developing engine problems before failure, together producing 58,000+ analyses across 7,400+ aircraft, and I design LLM agents that let non-technical users get grounded, checkable answers from messy data. As Director of the Savvy Aviation Foundation, I lead research applying LLM classification and survival analysis to NTSB accident data.
I also serve as a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Marine Innovation Unit, evaluating emerging technology, and instruct pilots as an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. A PhD in physics, semiconductor R&D, and military leadership give me a multidisciplinary lens on every problem.
